Photos Show the Design of Samsung Galaxy Fold5

The Samsung Galaxy Fold5 does not create any design revolution but does get the same screen size in a smaller format compared to the Fold4.
Rumors are that Samsung’s Galaxy Fold5 will hit the market earlier than expected. It’s not something Samsung itself has confirmed yet, but while we wait for the launch, we can take a look at leaked renders/images of the phone.
The images come from OnLeaks, which has shared a 360-degree video and 5K images of the foldable smartphone.
Very Small Design Differences
The Fold5 is almost completely identical to its predecessor Fold4, at least at first glance. In fact, it can be difficult to tell the difference between the two phones. However, if you look closer, you see that the LED flash sits within the camera island on the Galaxy Fold4, while on the Galaxy Fold5 it sits on the right side of the camera.
So there is not much new compared to last year’s model when it comes to the design, but something has happened to the hinges. The Fold5 is said to use a teardrop-shaped hinge to minimize the space when the phone is folded, as well as hide the fold on the screen when having the phone unfolded.
According to the source, the Samsung Galaxy Fold5 measures 154.9 x 129.9 x 6.3mm when unfolded and 154.9 x 67.1 x 13.5mm when folded. The thickness of the smartphone is 13.4 mm when folded.
If we are to compare, the Galaxy Fold4 is 155.1 x 67.1 x 14.2-15.8mm folded and 155.1 x 130.1 x 6.3mm unfolded. The reduction in the thickness of the Galaxy Fold5 when folded probably has to do with the new hinge system.
Smaller Phone but Same Screen Size
OnLeaks also claims that the foldable screen of the Galaxy Fold5 will be 7.6 inches on the diagonal, while the outside screen measures 6.2 inches.
This is consistent with previous rumours. The Fold4 has screens of the same size, but since the Fold5 is generally smaller, it means a narrower bezel around the screens of the new model.
Fold5 and Flip5 to Launch in July
The Galaxy Fold5 is expected to launch in July alongside the Galaxy Flip5, so we can probably count on many more rumors about the two top models over the coming weeks.
With a July launch, the two new models come earlier than usual, as Samsung has had this Unpacked so far in early August.
