Google I/O 2023 will be held in May and will focus on AI and Bard, as well as a number of new hardware products like the Pixel 7a and Pixel Tablet.

Google I/O is one of the big events for many tech fans around the world. The annual developer conference is always packed with lots of news and sometimes we are also presented with exciting surprises.

The event is primarily intended for developers who want to learn more about what’s new in Chrome, Android, and Search, and how these changes will impact them, not least their customers.

Although much of Google I/O is about software, Google also uses the conference to announce and tease for new products, such as the Pixel A series phones, which are some of the best budget smartphones on the market.

When will Google I/O 2023 take place?

First of all, we need to establish when Google’s developer conference 2023 will take place.

Usually it takes place in May and everything points to it continuing that way this year.

A date hasn’t been announced yet, but we expect it to be during the first or second week of May.

Google is obviously keeping its plans for its upcoming developer conference close to its chest, but nothing is leak-free.

News about AI and Bard

Not surprisingly, leaks and rumors say Google will focus on AI. We will be very surprised if otherwise they were to do so.

Google has internally enabled code red following the launch of ChatGPT 4.0 and Bing’s chat-based search, something that Google fears will have a major negative impact on the company’s core business.

They have responded with the launch of its chat-based search engine called Bard, but it was a lukewarm launch that analysts lukewarm and shaved $100 billion off Alphabet’s value. Alphabet is Google’s parent company.

We therefore expect a more comprehensive presentation of the Bard and the opportunities that AI opens up for a company like Google. In addition, we will also hear more about how developers can benefit from Google’s AI services.

Android 14 and Pixel 7a, Pixel Tablet and Pixel Fold

In addition, there is a state guarantee that Google will introduce Android 14 and all the new features that the version of the world’s most widely used operating system for phones gets. Android 14 is already out as a preview for developers.

Google has probably also planned a few hardware announcements, for example, a budget-friendly Google Pixel 7a, Google Pixel Tablet, and Pixel Fold.

The Pixel Tablet was actually launched at last year’s 2022 developer conference, but it still hasn’t been made available to the public a year later. The time has come for a final launch with a sell-by date and price.

Google I/O 2023 will certainly offer many exciting news in both hardware and software.
