Everyone at least once had to open Paint. In order to quickly draw something, create a “beautiful” graphic for a friend.

Microsoft noticed the complaints of these three users, who demanded that Paint not give a slap in the eyes and decided to make radical changes. The largest in 37 years.

Paint has been given a dark mode [yes, it’s 2023]

A preview of the new version of Paint with dark mode was made available on June 1 to users in the Canary and Dev test channels.

We have two options to choose from: either the dark mode will automatically adapt to the settings of our Windows, or we can enable it ourselves permanently in the settings.

We learned that this mode will be available to all users later this year.

There is something else!

In addition to this most anticipated feature, we will also get better control over the approximation of our beautiful creations:

“Image Properties” have been modernized to better suit the style of Windows 11. Support for hotkeys and keyboard shortcuts has also been improved throughout the app.
